Fencing
Fencing was one of the first sports when BEAC was founded in 1898, and from the very beginning the club has produced many national, European, world and Olympic champions for Hungary. For nearly 60 years, until 1957, BEAC's fencing hall in Semmelweis Street was a vibrant place to be.
In the EVC Semmelweis Street fencing hall we offer beginner, advanced and MEFOB competition preparation courses for fencers, and ELTE students are welcome to attend the training sessions!
The training is held by Jenő Pap, who won the world championship title with the Hungarian duathlon team in 1978, and then became individual world champion at the 1982 World Championships in Rome, where he won the bronze medal in the team event. This performance won him the title of Hungarian Male Athlete of the Year and Fencer of the Year.
